Healing is a journey, not just a destination. My personal experience with health challenges has shaped my approach to medicine and healing. At age 12, I was diagnosed with what is commonly known as an autoimmune disease. By 17, I realized that taking responsibility for my health was the key to transformation.
Oriental medicine teaches that there are no incurable diseases—only individuals who have yet to find the right path to healing. A cure is something external, while healing is an internal process. When the body heals at a critical level, disease processes can fade, sometimes into full remission. This has been my personal journey, and it is what inspires my practice.
I became a Licensed Acupuncturist in 2024, drawing from my background in martial arts, guidance from mentors, and experience working in natural pharmacies. I am passionate about using holistic and ancient healing methods to help others achieve vitality, balance, and well-being.
I named this practice after Ignaz Semmelweis (1818-1865), a Hungarian physician of German descent who was a pioneer of antiseptic procedure within the field of medicine. Semmelweis observed that incidence of nosocomial infection was drastically reduced by way of hand washing with chlorinated lime solutions and that mortality rate dropped from 18% of patients to 2% just from doing so. Though he could offer no explanation as to why such a small change would make such a big difference, he knew it did. The old guard took great offense to his proposal and abhorrently rejected it only later to find that what he advocated for was not only efficacious but would become regulated practice. Small changes, even when their specific mechanisms of action aren’t fully known or well understood can make the biggest of differences. My practice of healthcare is based on this. Common sense itself is life saving even if not well accepted.
